Mis Sold PPI Claims Way Ahead Of Mobile Insurance Complaintss

May 21st, 2010

Making a call on your new phone is a satisfying experience but who are most people calling with that first phone call? Well, if you believe the rumblings in the industry then it’s a mis sold PPI claim company in an attempt to get some of their money back.

With phone insurance performing well, alondside car and travel insurance, the black sheep in the flock is PPI which has led to PPI claims becoming an increasingly popular compensation case being handled by solicitors. But will the increase in claims continue? Well, yes, because the consumer watchdog Which? say there are an estimated 2 million mis sold PPI policies.

iPhone 3GS - Changing Things

October 19th, 2009

Since technology giants Apple released the 3GS model of their hugely popular iPhone, the way people are using mobile technology has changed. These days it is all about which applications you have downloaded or how fast you can surf the internet on your handset, previously it simply the ability to send a text message that got people excited. Texters turned into ‘appers’ and began communicating using applications downloaded from Apple’s award winning App Store. Software add-ons such as Skype or Ping are taking over and moving people slowly away from calling or texting friends and family.

With the increased browsing speed that the iPhone 3GS model possesses and for anyone with a need to surf from a mobile phone, it is a must have gadget. Apple have managed to set a trend once again following on from the massive success of their Macbook and iPod ranges. This trend has had other mobile phone manufacturers copying the simple but classy menu interface of the iPhone.

Apple have started a race and right now are way out in front, but the question is how long will it be until the others catch up?

Roaming Abroad

June 11th, 2008

Whilst the airline companies may be hiking up their prices to travel, at least the cost of using your mobile phone abroad hasn’t followed suit. This is all thanks to an EU ruling last year which capped roaming charges, meaning users will not be charged more than 38p a minute for making a call and 17p to receive a call whilst visiting any of the EU’s member states. However beware; whilst calls may be cheaper, texts are not covered by the ruling and some networks charge as much as 60p a text. Ouch!

One of the cheapest networks for calls in the EU is 3 which charges 25p a minute for calls, 25p a minute per text and only 10p to receive a call. If you need to make five or more calls whilst you’re on your travels it’s also worth considering a bolt-on or pre-paid voucher which will allow you to make calls and send emails at a discounted rate.

You will of course need to check whether your phone will work abroad in the first place. So if you’re unsure, speak to your network provider before you travel…Happy holidays!
