PPI Claims And Recession Put Thousands Off Mobile Phone Insurance

As if you need reminding, we’re in a recession and that means high unemployment, low spending levels and increased crime. At a time like this, insurance is increasingly attractive to help cover loan repayments or loss of items through theft, but rather than rising, the number of policies being taken out is falling.

This is mainly due to the dramatic cut backs being made by families up and down the country as they drop any non-essentials like mobile phone insurance to try and keep the wolf from the door. Add to this money saving; the increase in PPI claims for mis sold insurance and people are cancelling their cover left, right and centre. If you’re considering cancelling your phone insurance, first think about the possible cost to you if you lose your phone and second, be sure to look for cheaper policies.
